We will be going over a popular technique of glazing stoneware on textured mugs. The fun of stoneware glaze is that it is unpredictable and can create extremely unique pieces depending on layering and colors picked!

Stoneware Bisque is very similar to the traditional bisque ware that is kept in stock at the shop. The difference comes in the firing temperature and the type of glaze used. Stoneware is fired to a cone 6, which reaches around 2200 F. At this higher temperature we see the glaze react differently. There’s more movement and variation, which creates completely unique pieces. The brush stroke technique and the number of layers will react differently as well. That is where the fun of this class comes in! We will have 6 different stoneware glazes to choose from, and we will teach you the best way to apply those glazes. The mug we will be using for this class has a texture so we can see the way the glaze moves and pools after firing. This class is $35 per person, and you will receive your mugs one week after the…
